THE GROUP IS ON LONG-TERM HIATUS

The Portland Lesbian Writers Group, fully established in 2015, is for readers and writers of lesbian-focused works who seek camaraderie, support, and the opportunity to learn more about writing, publishing, networking, and promoting. The group has met monthly in the past but is not meeting at this time.

Under the umbrella of "Literary Lesbians Present!" we have offered periodic readings, book fairs, and seminars in the Portland area. The group has always welcomed members from the Portland metroplex and beyond.

The group - also called the "Polliwogs" (because of the acronym: PoLeWG) - exists to provide learning opportunities, encouragement, and assistance to new and established writers in developing their craft; provide opportunities to promote lesbian-themed literature including events that bring readers and writers together; and be inclusive while increasing the visibility and quality of lesbian-themed/sapphic/women-loving-women literature.

The email list is currently in hiatus as well.

REQUIRING FAIRNESS, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION

Diverse, multi-racial, multi-age, and differently-abled writers deserve unbiased treatment and inclusion in all of the fine arts.The Polliwogs welcomes writers of every experience and color, ability, age, gender, culture, background, and more. Writings and writers who feature characters who are "diverse" (which reflects the Real World) are always welcome. We believe that *all* good writing by, for, and/or about lesbians/sapphic/women-loving-women of every kind is very much needed in the world today.
